CIM Micro components

In recent years Formatec Ceramics has found an increasing need for micro components. From a range of different markets there is a need for very small, high-precision parts with the unique properties of ceramics. The trade magazine Powder Injection Moulding International has also noticed this market trend, and Formatec Ceramics products are featured on the cover of the December 2011 issue.


The accuracy with which Formatec Ceramics proceeds is unique. Not only is the injection moulding performed with the utmost precision, but also the fabrication in the green phase with CNC-driven milling machines. This ensures very accurate end products with very small tolerances. 
An example of such a micro product is shown in the picture. On an area of 2 x 2 mm, there are 64 octagonal holes of 125 μm – all positioned with extreme accuracy.


This is a powerful demonstration that Formatec Ceramics is ready for the future of Micro PIM. Feed stocks, mould technology, debinding/sintering and post-processing are proven and already used in series. If you have any questions, please contact us.
